Middlesbrough Town Hall serving-up a storm at Orange Pip Kitchen
As the Town Hall prepares to open Orange Pip Kitchen, the debut menu by Luke Harding of The Waiting Room is revealed
In ten days, Orange Pip Kitchen will throw open its doors to the public and in doing so, will debut the very first food offering from Middlesbrough Town Hall.
As part of its £7.7 million refurbishments, Middlesbrough Town Hall has created a unique offering, which sees a different foodie taking reigns every three months, keeping the menu fresh for diners and allowing Middlesbrough Town Hall to support regional, independent chefs, cooks and food-creatives.
Keren Pearson, Commercial Events Manager for Middlesbrough Town Hall is thrilled for the first menu to launch as she prepares to open the markets sister Orange Pip Kitchen for its first service on Saturday 30th June.
“There is a wealth of talented chefs and street food entrepreneurs in the North East, Orange Pip Kitchen focus on supporting that talent to develop and experiment with innovative menus that tickle the taste buds of Boro residents and visitors.”
Visitors to Orange Pip Kitchen from Saturday 30th June can expect a contemporary menu of vegetarian street food, ideal for lunches.
Created by Luke Harding, of the award-winning restaurant, The Waiting Room in Eaglescliffe, the debut menu is a flavoursome collection of some of his classic dishes, including:
Waiting Room Spinach, Mushroom and Feta Curry
Waiting Room Pea Burger, with Tamarind Chutney
Brazilian Black Bean Chilli Burrito
Halloumi and Aubergine Salad-Stuffed Pita
Squash, Kale, White Grape and Olive Salad
Waldorf Sweet Potato
"We've been producing a new street-food menu of freshly prepared vegetables, whole foods and organic dairy and cooked up with love to create some classic flavour combinations, resulting in a menu that takes inspiration from around the world. Especially for the Town Hall we will offer diners-on-the-go, quicker takeaway options, so there’s no excuse not to treat yourself to something fresh and hearty in your lunch-hour!”
Locals are invited to sample The Waiting Room menu at Orange Pip Kitchen from Saturday 30th June. The Waiting Room will take up residence for the first three months, before handing the baton to the Kitchen’s as-yet-unannounced follow-up.
