Artist exhibition in Aberdeen
Crystlsd client and self-taught artist Alexander Millar will exhibit a brand new collection of original artwork in Aberdeen this November. Crystlsd are delivering marketing and PR to promote the exhibition and reach new audiences for Alexander Millar's work.
This November, art-lovers will have the opportunity to see a new body of work by Alexander Millar, a self-taught Scottish artist who is inspired by Britain’s industrial landscapes and the traditional working men and women of the past. As a long-held bastion of the working man, home of the world-renowned North Sea oil industry and where Alexander holidayed as a child; the artist has used Aberdeen as the fulcrum of inspiration for his new collection: inspired by the cool light across the scenery in this unique part of Scotland, the work takes the viewer on a nostalgic journey through vistas of local streets and industrial icons, featuring the heritage of the city, it’s people, industry and prosperity.
Alexander Millar says: “Since my childhood holidays to the area, I have always found the Aberdeen-folk warm and friendly, with an inclusive sense of community. Aberdeen is like an island in Scotland, with its own identity as a distinct place. The work in this exhibition reflects everything that makes Aberdeen what it is now – its history, economy and its people. This area has its own unique light, the sun-gazing at a long angle this far north and reflecting off warm, grey, stone buildings Aberdeen is known for. This is difficult to capture, but I reflect this in my warm-blue landscapes I have painted."
Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in this new collection at Aberdeen’s Chester Hotel, Queen’s Road. There will be an opportunity to meet the artist on Monday 13 November from 5.30pm.
Exhibition runs from 13-15 November. Open daily 11am to 7pm. The Chester Hotel, Queen’s Road, Aberdeen, AB15 4YP. Free Entry, no booking required.
